How to Get Involved
Developing the Transportation System Plan (TSP) will involve residents, business owners, and other stakeholders in Seaside. A variety of opportunities are available for you to participate in the Seaside TSP. Read about the ways you can get involved before the project ends. Transportation Summits (2 meetings) Transportation Summits are community meetings intended to share work that has already been done and to gather ideas for moving forward.
  • Transportation Summit #1 – Wednesday, June 18, 2008
    The first Summit focused on the survey outcomes and understanding community priorities. All of the Materials from the Transportation Summit are available.

  • Transportation Summit #2 – Winter 2010 (date, time, location to be determined) The second Summit will focus on the outcomes of the three Mode/Policy Workshops, including gathering input on a preliminary list of projects to include in the TSP.
Mode/Policy Workshops (3 meetings)If you would like to attend the third workshop, please send us an email or show up to the meeting (the location, date, and time of the meeting hasn't been decided).
  • Mode/Policy Workshop #1 –Thursday, November 6, 2008
    During the first Transportation Summit, the project team formed small groups to address specific transportation issues that are important to the community. The transportation issues were centered on a transportation modes and policy issues (such as bicycle/pedestrian connections or street design and networks). All of the meeting materials are on the Tasks and Materials page

  • Mode/Policy Workshop #2 – Tuesday, January 20, 2009
    The groups worked together to review technical data and provided recommendations, that were discussed in the second Transportation Summit. All of the meeting materials are on the Tasks and Materials page

  • Mode/Policy Workshop #3 – Thursday, January 21, 2010 (5:30 to 8:30 pm, Bob Chisholm Community Center)
    This workshop will discuss highway alternatives and the development of Alternate Mobility Standards. Please come to the workshop and let the team know what you think. Recommendations from this workshop will be presented at the final Transportation Summit.

Web Survey (April 15 – May 15, 2008) The survey results helped the project team to develop a sense of the transportation issues that are important to the community. The survey findings formed a base for further conversations about what transportation improvements should be included in the TSP. A summary of the findings were discussed at the first Transportation Summit.
